Advanced Poetry Writing Workshop

By popular demand, Half Off Book's Poetry Curator, Eric Morago will be instructing a brand new poetry writing workshop series for writers who are at an advanced level.

 

This workshop will focus more on exploring and evolving aesthetic through analysis and discussion of our own poetry and the poetry of others. 

 

While past workshops have mostly been dedicated to the technical mind of poetry, this workshop will engage poetry’s heart and spirit.  Prompt poems and excerpts from essays written by poets will be shared and discussed.  We will also write some poems over the course of the workshop with a new set of goals.  In doing so, we will gain a stronger understanding of our own journey as writers, and ultimately, the poetry we produce will benefit from it.

 

Workshops will meet on Tuesday nights at 7:00 PM beginning on Tuesday, October 11th.

 

As this is an advanced level workshop, it is open to any poet who has taken a past workshop with Eric Morago.  If you have not taken a workshop with Eric Morago, you may still eligible take the workshop, but must contact him via email first to make a formal request. 

 

The workshop will run for 6-8 weeks, depending on the size of enrollment.  Cost for the entire workshop series is $40 due on the first meeting.
